The Illini Union Hotel

Reservations, 217-333-1241:

Conference speakers will be housed at the Illini Union, where most of the conference events will take place. The building includes a small hotel. Its address is 1401 W. Green Street, Urbana, IL 61801. Tele: 217-333-3030; reservations: 217-333-1241. The conference has also arranged for a block of rooms to be held for attendees to reserve on a “first come, first served” basis up to one month before the conference. When calling the reservation desk, attendees must mention the Timaeus conference in order to rent a guest room. Basically the conference has booked the entire hotel. The attendees' block is held until August 13, 2007, at which time any rooms remaining unreserved are released for the general public. Please note that during term-time the hotel almost always sells out.

Queen bed (one guest) $98 + 11% tax; $105 + 11% tax for 2 people

Double bed (one guest) $94 + 11% tax; $104 + 11% tax for 2 people

The Hampton Inn

Reservations, 217-337-1100:

As an overflow accommodation, the conference has booked a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn, 1200 W. University Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801, tele: 217-337-1100. The Inn is an easy, ten-minute walk to the Illini Union through the North Campus area. These rooms will be held exclusively for attendees to rent until August 30, 2007. Mention the Timaeus conference or the code UTC in order to rent one of the rooms in the block at a special convention rate.

Rates:

Queen bed (one or more guests) $89 + 11% tax

King bed (one or more guests) $89 + 11% tax

Amenities: both accommodations have similar amenities. Free parking. Wireless internet access. Substantial complimentary continental breakfast. Gym. The Inn has a swimming pool, the Union does not. The Union has a bowling alley, the Inn does not. Neither has an airport shuttle.
